CHILLENDEN, a parish in the hundred of EASTRY, lathe of ST-AUGUSTINE, county of KENT, 3 miles (S. B. by S.) from Wingham, containing 147 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury, rated in the king's books at £5, endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to All Saints. A fair for pedlary, &c, is held on Whit-Monday.
