CHOCKNELL, a hamlet in the parish of LEIGH,
lower division of the hundred of PERSHORE, county of
WORCESTER, 5 miles (W. S. W.) from Worcester. The
population is returned with the parish. This was formerly
a distinct parish: the living, which was a vicarage,
rated in the king's books at £16. 1. 5., has been consolidated
with the rectory of Leigh; it is in the archdeaconry
and diocese of Worcester. The church has
been demolished.
