CLAXTON, a parish in the hundred of LODDON, county of NORFOLK, 7 miles (S. E. by E.) from Norwich, containing 160 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, endowed with £200 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of Sir Charles Rich, Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Andrew. There is a place of worship for Baptists.
