CLEEVE (CHAPEL), a hamlet in the parish of
OLD-CLEEVE, hundred of WILLITON-and-FREEMANNERS,
county of SOMERSET, 3 miles (E.) from Dunster.
The chapel, which gave to this place its distinguishing
appellation, was dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, but
has long since fallen to ruin; it stood on a rock, and
was the resort of numerous pilgrims.
