COLEBY, a parish in the higher division of the wapentake of BOOTHBY-GRAFFO, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 6 miles (S.) from Lincoln, containing 322 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £6. 12. 1., endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Provost and Fellows of Oriel College, Oxford. The church, dedicated to All Saints, has a tower, the lower part of which, with the south door and nave, exhibits fine specimens of Norman architecture; the rest of the building is in the early English style, with later additions, particularly the upper portion of the tower and spire.
