COMBE (ST-NICHOLAS), a parish in the eastern division of the hundred of KINGSBURY, county of SOMERSET, 2 miles (N. W.) from Chard, containing 1046 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean and Chapter of Wells, rated in the king's books at £15. 4. 4., and in the patronage of the Dean of Wells. Fairs are held on the 18th of June, and on the Wednesday before December 11th.
