CONISTONE (CHURCH), a chapelry in the parish
of ULVERSTONE, hundred of LONSDALE, north of the
sands, county palatine of LANCASTER, 4 miles (W.) from
Hawkeshead, containing 566 inhabitants. The living
is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Richmond,
and diocese of Chester, endowed with £200
private benefaction, £400 royal bounty, and £800
parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of W.
Bradyll, Esq.
