COSGROVE, a parish in the hundred of CLELEY, county of NORTHAMPTON, l^mile (N. N. E.) from Stony- Stratford, containing, with a portion of the hamlet of Old Stratford, 559 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £ 14. 11. 3., and in the patronage of J. C. Mansell, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. This parish is situated'on the borders of Buckinghamshire, the Buckingham canal passing on its southern side, and there joining the Grand Junction canal, Which enters the county here, by cross*- ing the Ouse near its conflux with the Tow. A mineral spring, named St. Vincent's or Finche's well, exists in this parish.
