COTHAM, a parish in the southern division of the wapentake of NEWARK, county of NOTTINGHAM, 4 miles (S.) from Newark, containing 74 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Nottingham, and diocese of York, rated in the king's books at £7. 18., endowed with £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Duke of Portland. The church, dedicated to St. Michael, is a small dilapidated building.
