CRAKEHALL, a township in that-part of the parish
of BEDALE which is in the eastern, division of the wapentake
of HANG, North riding of the county of YORK,
If mile (N.W. by W.) from Bedale, containing, with
Rands-Grange, 550 inhabitants. There are places of
worship for Baptists and Wesleyan Methodists. The
village forms a spacious' quadrangle,-, enclosing an
extensive and pleasant green, ornamented with stately
trees.
