CRANWELL, a parish in the hundred of FLAXWELL, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 4 miles (N.W.) from Sleaford, containing 155 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £600 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Sir John H. Thorold. The church is dedicated to St. Andrew. A school is supported by charitable donations amounting to about £3 per annum.
