CRAWLEY, a parish in the hundred of BUDDLESGATE, Fawley division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON, 5 miles (N.W.) from Winchester, containing, with the chapelry of Hunton, 476 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the incumbent, rated in the king's books at £35. 13. 4., and in the patronage of the Bishop -of Winchester. The church is dedicated to St.. Mary. Crawley is within the jurisdiction of the Cheyney Court held at Winchester every Thursday, for the recovery of debts to any amount.
