of the wapentake of THURGARTON, county of NOTTINGHAM,
5 miles (N.) from Newark, containing 184
inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
of Nottingham, and diocese of York, rated in
the king's books at £13. 2. 3., and in the patronage
of the Duke of Newcastle. The church is dedicated
to St. Giles.
