CROUGHTON, a township in that part of the
parish of ST-OSWALD-CHESTER, which is in the higher
division of the hundred of WIRRALL, county palatine
of CHESTER, 4 miles (N. by E.) from Chester, containing
27 inhabitants. The Ellesmere canal passes through
this township.
