CUBERT, a parish in the hundred of PYDER, county of CORNWALL, 5 miles (W. N. W.) from St. Michaels, containing 322 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Cornwall, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £ 8. 6. 8., and in the patronage of the Rev. T. Stabback. The church is dedicated to St. Cuthbert. This place is situated on the coast of the Bristol channel: it was visited in 1564 with the pestilence, which carried off a very large portion of the inhabitants.
