DASSETT (AVON), a parish in the Burton-Dassett
division of the hundred of KINGTON, county of WARWICK,
5 miles (E. by S.) from Kington, containing 242
inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the peculiar
jurisdiction of the Bishop of Lichfield and Coventry,
rated in the king's books at £13. 18. 9. Robert Green,
Esq. was patron in 1803. The church is dedicated to
St. John the Baptist.
