DEEPING (WEST), a parish in the wapentake of
NESS, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 1 mile
(W. S. W.) from Market-Deeping, containing 302 inha-
bitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at
£9. 17. 11., and in the patronage of the Crown. The
church, dedicated to St. Michael, has portions in the
early English, with insertions in the decorated and later
styles of English architecture; the font is a fine specimen
of the early English style.
