DONNINGTON-WOOD, a chapelry in the parish
of LILLESHALL, Newport division of the hundred of
BRADFORD (South), county of SALOP, 3 miles (B.N.E.)
from Wellington. The population is returned with the
parish. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry
of Salop, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry,
endowed with £200 private benefaction, £800 royal
bounty, and £300 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage
of the Marquis of Stafford. The chapel is dedicated
to St. George. There is a place of worship for Baptists.
