DRAYTON (WEST), a parish in the hundred of ELTHORNE, county of MIDDLESEX, 3 miles (N.E.) from Colnbrook, containing 608 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, united to that of Harmondsworth, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean and Chapter of St. Paul's, London, rated in the king's books at £13. 6. 8., and endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty. The church, dedicated to St. Martin, has an embattled tower at the west end, and contains a font curiously sculptured in compartments. The Grand Junction canal passes through the parish.
