DUNKIRK-VILLE, a liberty (extra-parochial), in the hundred of WESTGATE, lathe of ST-AUGUSTINE, county of KENT, 5 miles (W. by isr.) from Canterbury, containing 543 inhabitants. This was anciently the royal forest of Bleane; it consists of a large tract, containing about five thousand acres, mostly covered with coppices, interspersed with farm-houses and cottages.
