EAST-LEACH-TURVILLE, a parish in the hundred of BRIGHTWELLS-BARROW, county of GLOUCESTER, 4 miles (N. byE.) from Lechlade, containing 333 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Gloucester, endowed with £9 per annum private benefaction, and £600 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Gloucester. The church, an extremely small building, is dedicated. to St. Andrew. The Roman Iknield-street enters this parish on the east from Oxfordshire, and joins the fosse-way at Cirencester. In Church-lane is a mineral spring, which is strongly cathartic.
