EATON, a parish in the hundred of FRAMLAND,
county of LEICESTER, 8 miles (N.N.E.) from Melton-
Mowbray, containing 284 inhabitants. The living is a
discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Leicester,
and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at
£?. 11.3., endowed with £200 royal bounty, and in
the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated
to St. Denis. The Wesleyan Methodists have a place
of worship here. There is a small sum for the education
of children.
