EDDLESBOROUGH, a parish in the hundred of COTTESLOE, county of BUCKINGHAM, 3 miles (X.E.) from Ivinghoe, comprising the chapelry of Dagnell, and the hamlets of Hudnall and Northall, and containing 1378 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £ 13. 17., endowed with £8 per annum private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Trustees of the late Earl of Bridgewater. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is a handsome edifice, situated on an isolated hill, which has much the appearance of an ancient fortress. At Dagnell there was formerly a chantry chapel, dedicated to All Saints.
