EDWALTON, a parish in the northern division of the wapentake of RUSHCLIFFE, county of NOTTINGHAM, 3 miks (S. S. E.) from Nottingham, containing 119 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Nottingham, and diocese of York, endowed with £ 600 royal bounty, and in the patronage of John Musters, Esq. The church is dedicated to the HolyRood. Edwalton is in the honour of Tutbury, duchy of Lancaster, and within the jurisdiction of a court of pleas held at Tutbury every third Tuesday, for the recovery of debts under 40s.
