EGMERE, a parish in the northern division of the hundred of GREENHOE, county of NORFOLK, 2 miles (W. by N.) from Little Walsingham, containing 47 inhabitants. The living is a rectory annexed to the vicarage of Holkham, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £8, and in the patronage of T. W. Coke, Esq. The church, which was dedicated to St. Edmund, is desecrated. The two parishes are separated by Quarks farm, which is extraparochial.
