ELDERSFIELD, a parish forming, with the parishes of Chaseley and Staunton, a distinct portion of the lower division of the hundred of PERSHORE, county of WORCESTER, 7 miles (W.byS.) from Tewkesbury, containing, 743 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester, rated in the king's books at £8. 16. 8., and in the patronage of Sir Anthony Lechmere, Bart. The church, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, has a handsome spire. There is a place of worship for dissenters, also a charity school, supported-by subscription.
