ELKINGTON (SOUTH), a parish in the Wold division
of the hundred of LOUTH-ESKE, parts of LINDSEY,
county of LINCOLN, 2 miles (W.N.W.) from
Louth, containing 268 inhabitants. The living is a discharged
vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of
Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £5. 7 6. The
Rev. William Smyth, Jun. was patron in 1822. The
church is dedicated to All Saints.
