EVENLEY, a parish in the hundred of KINGS-SUTTON,
county of NORTHAMPTON, 1 mile (S. by W.) from
Brackley, containing 468 inhabitants. The living is a
discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Northampton,
and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's
books at £7, endowed with £400 private benefaction,
and £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the
President and Fellows of Magdalene College, Oxford.
The church is dedicated to St. George.
