EXNING, a parish in the hundred of LACKFORD,
county of SUFFOLK, 2 miles (N.W.) from Newmarket,
containing 695 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, with
the curacy of Landwade, in the archdeaconry of Sudbury,
and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at
& 13.7.6., and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter
of Canterbury. The church is dedicated to St. Martin.
There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
