FALKENHAM, a parish in the hundred of COLNEIS, county of SUFFOLK, 8 miles (E. S. B.) from Ipswich, containing 285 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £7. 11. 3., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Ethelbert. The navigable river Deben runs through the parish.
