FLEET, a parish in the hundred of ELLOE, parts
of HOLLAND, county of LINCOLN, 2 miles (E. by S.)
from Holbeach, containing 776 inhabitants. The living
is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln,
rated in the king's books at £15. Joseph Dodds, Esq.
was patron in 1807. The church, the steeple of which
is at some distance from it, is dedicated to St. Mary
Magdalene. A large quantity of Roman copper coins,
chiefly of the Emperor Galienus, was found here not
many years since.
