FLEMPTON, a parish in the hundred of THINGOE, county of SUFFOLK, 4 miles (N. N.W.) from Bury-St. Edmund's, containing 129 inhabitants. The living is a rectory with the rectory of Hengrave, in the archdeaconry of Sudbury, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £ 5. The Rev. R. S. Dixon was patron in 1S36. The church is dedicated to St. Catherine. The navigable river Lark runs on the north of this parish.
