FORRABURY, a parish in the hundred of LESNEWTH, county of CORNWALL, 2 miles (N.E.) from Bossiney, containing 223 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Cornwall, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's hooks at £4. 12. 8., endowed with £200 royal bounty, and.m the patronage of Thomas John Phillips, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Simphorian. This was formerly a place of some importance, its decay being attributed to the destruction of Tintagel and Botreaux castles, on which it was dependent. The parish is bounded on the north-west by the Bristol channel.
