FOSTON, a parish in the hundred of GUTHLAXTON,
county of LEICESTER, 6 miles (S. by E.) from Leicester,
containing 24 inhabitants. The living is a rectory,
in the archdeaconry of Leicester, and diocese of
Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £14. 2. 3., and
in the patronage of Sir C. Lamb. The church is dedicated
to St. Bartholomew.
