FRIZINGTON (HIGH-AND-LOW), a township in the parish of ARLECDON, ALLERDALE ward above Darwent, county of CUMBERLAND, 3 miles (E. by S.) from Whitehaven. The population is returned with the parish. In this township is a chalybeate spring, the water of which is said to possess the same virtues as that at Harrogate. Iron-ore is obtained here.
