GAUTBY, a parish in the southern division of the
wapentake of GARTREE, parts of LINDSEY, county of
LINCOLN, 6 miles (W. N. W.) from Horncastle, containing
118 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory,
in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in
the king's books at £6.3,4., endowed with £200
private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the
patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to All
Saints.
