GAYTON-THORPE, a parish in the Lynn division
of the hundred of FREEBRIDGE, county of NORFOLK,
8 miles (N. W. by N.) from Swaffham, containing
187 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's
books at £6. A. Hamond, Esq. was patron in 1818.
The church is dedicated to St Mary.
