GUIST, a parish in the hundred of EYNSFORD,
county of NORFOLK, 2 miles (N.N.W.) from Foulsham,
containing 308 inhabitants. The living is a discharged
vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese
of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £5. 15. 5., endowed
with £ 800 royal bounty. The Rev. W. Norris was
patron in 1789. The church is dedicated to St.Andrew.
