GUNNERTON, a chapelry, joint with Chipchase, in the parish of CHOLLERTON, north-eastern division of TINDAIE ward, county of NORTHUMBERLAND, 8 miles (N. by W.) from Hexham, containing 409 inhabitants. Here was anciently a chapel, but not the slightest vestige of it is now visible. There are traces of a Roman encampment, and a large barrow called Money-hill, where coins have frequently been found.
