HALTON (EAST), a parish in the eastern division
of the wapentake of YARBOROUGH, parts of LINDSEY,
county of LINCOLN, 7 miles (E. by S.) from Barton
upon Humber, containing 468 inhabitants. The living is
a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese
of, Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £7. 18. 4., endowed
with £600 royal bounty. Lord Yarborough was
patron in 1792. The church is dedicated to . St. Peter.
