HARDWICKE, a parish in the hundred of LEY, county of OXFORD, 5 miles (N.) from Bicester, containing, with the parish of Tusmore, 98 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the king's books at £5, endowed with £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Sir H. W. Dashwood, Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
