HARLE (LITTLE), a township in the parish of KIRKWHELPINGTON, north-eastern division of TINDALE ward, county of NORTHUMBERLAND, 12 miles (W. by S.) from Morpeth, containing 48 inhabitants. Little Harle tower, an ancient border fortress, now forms part of a handsome and commodious mansion.
