HARTHILL, a parish in the higher division of the hundred of BROXTON, county palatine of CHESTER, 7 miles (S.W. by S.) from Tarporley, containing 147 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Chester, endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Thomas Tyrwhitt Drake, Esq. The church, dedicated to All Saints, was erected about 1609; it has no tower. There are several quarries of a soft sandstone in the parish.
