HAWKEDON, a parish in the hundred of RISBRIDGE,
county of SUFFOLK, 6 miles (N.N. E.) from
Clare, containing 329 inhabitants. The living is a
rectory, in the archdeaconry of Sudbury, and diocese
of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £7. 10. The
Rev. William Gilly was patron in 1788.
