HELLAND, a parish in the hundred of TRIGG, county of CORNWALL, 2 miles (N. by E.) from Bodmin, containing 264 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Cornwall, and diocese of Exeter rated in the king's books at £9.13.9. William Morshead, Esq. was patron in 1817. The church is dedicated to St. Helena. Here is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. Dr. Richard Glynn Cloberry, an eminent poet and physician, was born at Erodes, or Broads, the seat of the Glynn family, in this parish.
