the wapentake of GARTREE, parts of LINDSEY, county
of LINCOLN, 3 miles (N. N. w.) from Horncastle, containing
297 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the
archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's
books at £17. 8. 63., and in the patronage of the Provost
and Fellows of King's College, Cambridge. There
is a place of worship forWesleyan Methodists. This
parish is in the liberty of the duchy of Lancaster.
