HINXHILL, a parish in the hundred of CHART-and-LONGBRIDGE, lathe of SCRAY, county of KENT, 2 miles (E. byS.) from Ashford, containing 146 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury, rated in the king's books at £7. 16. 8. Sir J. C. Honeywood, Bart, was patron in 1801. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is principally in the early style of English architecture.
