HOGSHAW, a parish in the hundred of ASHENDON,
county of BUCKINGHAM, 4 miles (S.W. by S.) from
Winslow, containing, with the hamlet of Fulbrook, 68
inhabitants. The church, which was dedicated to St.
John the Baptist, being desecrated, the inhabitants attend
the church of Quainton. Here was a preceptory
of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, so early as the
reigu of Henry II.
