HOLLINGBOURN, a parish in the hundred of EYHORNE,
lathe of AYLESFORD, county of KENT, 6 miles
(E.) from Maidstone, containing 1000 inhabitants. The
living, comprises a rectory and a vicarage, with the perpetual
curacy of Hucking, rated jointly in the king's books
at £36.2.1., and in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage
of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The church, dedicated
to All Saints, is a handsome edifice, attached to
which is a chapel with a marble floor, containing a superb
monument to the memory of Lady Culpepper, There is a
place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. Ann Long,
in 1812, bequeathed £7 per annum for teaching six
girls, and £3 to poor widows.
