HORBLING, a parish in the wapentake of AVELAND, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 3 miles (E. by N.) from Falldngham, containing 491 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £6. JO., endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Bishop of Lincoln. The church, which is dedicated to St. Andrew, combines portions in the Norman, early, decorated, and later English styles, of architecture: the font is richly sculptured in the decorated style.
